Megabus - Scam! rude! unapologetic! thievery!
Megabus.com sold us the wrong tickets. We arrived at the bus we thought we bought tickets for and were refused and threatened with police when we tried to board the ride we paid for.
They told us to call customer service. We called at midnite and 45 minutes later they still hadn't answered (claiming high call volume after midnite --how likely is that?). We were stranded in NYC after midnight. Had to go back to NJ and sleep in our RV.
Megabus cheated us, was beyond rude to us, ruined our weekend plans and refused to change our reimburse our so-called purchase actually their mistake. We will NEVER use them again and encourage others not to make themselves available to such Megabus abuse. They claim savings but deliver ***.
I've since, out of interest, read THOUSANDS of complaints from Megabus's outraged customers. Very bad business Megabus!
Reason of review: Poor customer service.
Monetary Loss: $100.
Preferred solution: Full refund.
Megabus Pros: Price.
Megabus Cons: Cheating and rudeness and nonperformance.

Please explain how they sold you the wrong tickets when you ordered them online. Computers do what they are told to do, by you.
point 1: computers make mistakes don't kid yourself
point 2: there's no way to review a phone order that I know of
point 3: humans also make mistakes ... most mistakes aren't criminal
point 4: mistakes can usually be corrected by caring and customer service
point 5: megabus and its rude employees don't know the meaning of service
point 6: other bus companies do so in the future they'll be my business choice point 7: as more and more people feel the pain from megabus they'll switch too point 8: people who make "anonymous" negative replies are often company trolls point 9: my post is clearly a complaint against megabus rudeness, injustice, virtual theft
Um...no...computers don't make mistake by themselves. It's called operator error.
If it was a phone order, then absolutely I agree 100% that this was an inexcusable error. However, if it was done online you would have had confirmation that it was done correctly. Honestly, I would never make travel plans without having something in hand. When I do phone orders for hotels, etc., I stay on the phone until the confirmation e-mail comes through.
That helps avoid these situations. That said I see an insane number of complaints about Megabus - never going to use them for sure!
THERE WAS NOTHING TO CONFIRM ON MY PHONE (SMART PHONES ARE MINI-COMPUTERS WITH ANDROID VS. OTHER OP SYSTEMS).
BUT YES IT WAS A PHONE. NO RECORDS TO CHECK THAT I KNOW OF. POINT WAS MEGABUS DOESN'T CARE HOW YOU PURCHASED YOUR TICKET OR IF IT WAS CORRECT ONCE YOU PASS "BOARDING TIME" WHEREAS OTHER CARRIERS WILL GIVE YOU A NEW TICKET.
PROBLEM IS IF MEGABUS IS ALLOWED TO CONTINUE THEIR BAD SERVICE, OTHERS MAY FOLLOW SUIT. VOTE WITH YOUR POCKETBOOK, FOLKS.
