My daughter purchased a ticket on the morning of Thurs. June 13th going from LA Union Station to San Jose.
The Megabus was to depart from LA at 3:05pm and arrive in San Jose at 10pm, in which then she would need to catch a different bus that would take her to her final destination of Santa Cruz. The Megabus in LA was delayed until 5:29pm, which would mean she had no way to get from the San Jose Station to Santa Cruz because she would miss the last bus going to Santa Cruz. I called Megabus to find out why the prolonged delay and was told the bus broke down. The bus breaking down is not the issue of a customer that purchased a ticket to leave and arrive at a certain time.
It is the duty of Megabus to keep a timely schedule to ensure customers get the service they paid for. Megabus would not refund her money or offer any type of compensation or accommodations after it being their error. My daughter is a young girl and being delayed for that period of time puts her in a dangerous situation of traveling that late by herself.
Megabus not giving a damn how she gets to her final destination after them causing her to arrive late is crazy and inhumane. Megabus needs to change their policy for the customer to be entitled to a refund if it is the companies error.
