Boston to NYC. The bus died 45 minutes outside Boston.
It took Megabus over five hours to send a replacement. If it had not been for local state troopers, Megabus would have left us sitting in the inside lane, blocking the highway. The Megabus driver who took over to take us to New York was really a d!ck, cracking jokes while we all freaked out about when and how we were getting to New York. The kicker?
After waiting at a rest stop for hours, the replacement bus finally arrived. 30 minutes into the journey we pulled into a lay by so the driver could "complete some paperwork"!!! Then he chose the only road into New York that was completely blocked, then took a detour through New Jersey. We figured he was probably on triple time.
Finally, as we arrived in New York, the driver told us would be entitled to a refund as we were delayed more than 3 hours.
But their policy is NOT to give refunds or be responsible for any eventuality. They offered a voucher as if you would take your life in your hands again and ever use them (and which I never even received).
