Megabus provided the worst travel experience I've ever had. The bus was obscenely late and that's horrible considering there's no bus station where you can wait.

It's just a stop In the middle of nowhere In most cases. In mine downtown Cincinnati it's the middle of the hood where you could be robbed raped or murdered and no one would be the wiser. We arrived in Atlanta late which threw our reservations off and upon return we were 4 minutes late which made us miss our bus. We rented a hotel and bought another ticket out.

Now pay attention this is where Megabus gets over. Our tickets were $25 roundtrip to go from Cincinnati to Atlanta and back. Megabus was obscenely late getting us there and on time leaving. It was $110 total for the new one way ticket just to go home once they charged us an additional charge for our luggage.

We have the same amount of luggage that we boarded originally with. The only difference is that we are now away from home and have to pay what they ask. This is the only bus that I know of that they have a person with a credit card swipe machine waiting at the door of the bus to suck you dry. The chick who collected the money was rude and most of the employees were since they know that most people don't have the money to say *** it I'll just Go Greyhound!

After the hotel and the raised price one-way ticket the journey that should have been $25 a piece turned out to be $144 total plus the cost of aggravation. I am a single mom who can't afford expensive trips but did fortunately have the money to

get home and *** itself will reach glacier status before I ride Megabus again!

PLEASE TAKE MY ADVICE DO NOT RIDE MEGABUS! If you've had a similar experience please post to shut the people down or at the very least make these people assume responsibility and their destinations safe and priced fairly.

I had never used megabus before, however a group x 3 were catching the megabus from Washington DC to Philly then Philly to buffalo. Firstly the tickets stated we had to get off the bus at another town and find our own way to Philly. Luckily we had a nice bus driver that allowed us to catch the direct to Philly. We were initially told we would need to organize transport in between. So we paid 110 dollars for train tickets (when the bus went directly to Philly anyways). So I feel that something needs to be done about how the tickets are purchased online. We arrived in Philadelphia with minimal problems. However when leaving Philadelphia The dispatcher was extremely rude, he saw our tickets and told us we would need to pay for our carry on bags. I stated that we had just caught megabus from DC and they had no concerns with our luggage size. He told another mega bus employee to get our bags off the bus. I again questioned this, he stated that we had to pay or we can't catch the bus. The bus driver was trying to help us but saying just let them on. The dispatcher did not listen and again told us to pay. I had to pay $80 for the bags. It was 2 degrees raining and cold and we just wanted to get to our destination. I have told people about this ordeal and they have all said 'megabus is bad' guess I now know this for myself. What was worse was that the dispatcher was starting on other passengers too, he seemed like he wanted to make people's journey unpleasant. Very rude customer service. Would like my money back for the bags as I believe I was incorrectly charged. Will never use megasbus again.

Will not refund my money

On the March 24th around 12:30pm I brought two round tickets from Boston to Washington DC from Megabus online. I paid $243. Before buying these tickets I called a number that was on their website that informed that all transactions should eb done online. Around 3 pm I went on there website to cancel the reservation. On the left lower section of the website was a section called trading in/ cancel reservations. so I went there and followed the steps to cancel the reservation. I then got a notice saying that reservation is cancelled and $241 would be credited to me. On March 31th upon checking my account I realized that on the 24th Megabus went ahead and removed the $243 from my bank account. Upon calling their customer service to talk about the issue I was : 1. hung up on by a Miss Laurie Parker 2. Told that a manager or supervisor refused to help me address the issue 3. Told that they had no history of me cancelling the reservation( which later appeared to be a lie) 3. Having called the customer service number again, was informed to send an email to inquiries@***.com I sent this email with the message saying that I cancelled the trip. I got a reply said 'I see that you attempted to cancel the reservation but it was not completed'. (Was this the same attempt that the customer service ladies did not see?) After back and forth I got a reply saying that I cannot get my money back because Megabus does not offer refunds. I see this as a BLATANT attempt at stealing. This should be stated BEFORE someone purchase a ticket. Because things happen and sometimes plans fall though. I WILL NEVER NEVER use Megabus again.

Treatment of elderly mother, lost luggage

First here in Chicago MegaBus has no where to drop off handicap or elderly passengers so the men just continuously tell you to move and go around the corner to do drop offs. Then when we were able to get her to the door to board her bag was taken and instead of letting her take it on the bus they "checked it" without a tag or anything. When she get to her destination low and behold no bag! She has nothing and worse of all when you call they are not concerned at all about it. The first time I called they lost the information about her in the lost and found, I called again had to redo the information and the third time I was told that I would just have to wait 3-5 day and hung up on with no idea what to do. So she will have no clothes for the entire trip.

Choosing megabus was the WORST decision I ever made. I knew I should have listened to the reviews. Needed to take the bus from Columbia to Atlanta so that I could catch a flight. The bus still hadn't showed up an HOUR after the original departure time. I ended up having to DRIVE my own car at 4 AM to Atlanta to catch my flight. I only made it with 5 minutes to spare. I would never trust this company to get you where you need to go on time. None of my emails have been replied to and I had to put unnecessary gas and mileage into my car!! I chose megabus so that I could save money and not put wear and tear on my car. Never again.

"We know you'll find megabus to accommodate your needs" or whatever that lady says at the beginning bragging about the onboard wifi and inexpensive rates starting at a tantalizing $1.00. Well, I have found none of these things to be true. And even if the wifi did work, there is no streaming anyways. WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT TO DO ON A 5 HOUR BUS RIDE. Listen to music or watch a movie. Oh well, if you do end up paying 50 dollars to travel, just hope you have a couple of xanax to pass out on the ride there.

Falsely informed BY Megabus´CUSTOMER SERVICE

I called twice and asked several times IF PHL X NYC have the same regulations as NYC X PHL for the `same day ticket change` which is a previous purchased ticket issued the same day that was not used (an earlier OR later time) with a $5 on the spot fee if there is space for you on the bus, that only SOME locations have this $5 on the spot fee. I asked again and again if NYC x PHL has this regulation as PHL x NYC they said YES YES YES and were even annoyed by the fact I kept asking. When I arrived at the stop the bus driver looked at me as if I was crazy and told me NO $20 on the spot. On top of the fact I already had a ticket from a few hours earlier that I had purchased to use with the $5 on the spot was COMPLETE waste. So my trip was double in PRICE and had i KNOWN this with some anticipation I could have taken another company with better prices like the friendly BOLTBUS if i knew id have to pay twice anyways....BEYOND inconvenient and the bus driver was unnecessarily RUDE about the whole thing. NEVER AGAIN MEGABUS!

Megabus-nothing good to report

If you are looking for on time arrival, working WiFi and electrical outlets and customer service, then Mega Bus is not for you. My son boarded the bus in NYC at 6:40pm with a scheduled arrival in Boston of 10:50. He called along the way to say that in addition to no WiFi or electric outlets, they were going to be delayed due to traffic and to change drivers. He wasn’t sure when he would arrive and the driver didn’t seem to know. Numerous calls (there number is only posted on their Facebook page) to Mega bus to find out where the bus was and when it would arrive brought a variety of misinformation such as: The bus is in New Jersey (it wasn’t), the bus arrived two hours ago (it didn’t), email customer service with our question (???), the GPS team was requested to locate the bus so call back in 15 – 30 minutes (that was their favorite response, but the bus was never located – must be using stealth technology). The only thing that we were not told was that the call center closed at 1:00am which left us completely in the dark. The bus finally arrived at 1:30am, almost 3 hours late on a four hour trip. Next trip will be with Greyhound.

Half refund for no bus?

I ordered a ticket from Rhode island to new york. I paid fifty *** dollars ($1 my ***) and the bus NEVER SHOWED UP. The next day I find out the bus broke down and they didn't tell ANY RIDERS. When I called for my refund, it took TWO SEPARATE TIMES OVER A WEEK to get my refund processed, and they aren't even giving me my FULL fee back. It's been more than a week, and AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. They are saying put 100 words, but here is just enough. This company is not worth the money or effort.

Ok here's my expirence I took a one way trip from grand praire texas to Chicago illinois. Let's start off with the bad .. It's alot of that . They need SECURITY on the busses ASAP !! I felt violated from the time I stepped foot until the time I got off. Some of the riders are complete creeps! The wifi.. Doesn't work so don't get your hopes up They should invest in some heat , I had on a hat,scarf , and a blanket and was still freezing majority of the ride. The drivers shoulf be tested for drugs and alcohol consumption before driving . Almost certain one of the drivers were drunk. Also they should have scheduled breaks .. One of the drivers took two unexpected breaks which lead to us being late ! They need to get a bus station ,we stood outside in TN in 1 degrees ! For over a hour and a half. The pros .. Not too many but it was over all a good trip once I relocated to a different seat, the outlets worked ,and the seats were ok.

12 hours later my daughter still isn't home from her 8 hour trip

For those of you following the "Where's Megabus?" daily saga ... This is where we now are.... 10:00 am - My daughter's bus was supposed to leave from Memphis to Dallas. 10:30 am - the bus actually left 12:45 pm - the bus arrived in Little Rock 12:46 pm - the bus driver announces he is going back to Memphis because "he left some people there" 3:00 pm - the bus arrives BACK in Memphis 4:00 pm - the bus is STILL in Memphis because the bus driver is LOST! 4:30 pm - the bus FINALLY leaves Memphis - AGAIN 6:30 PM - the bus arrives in Little Rock - AGAIN 9:30 PM - I was just notified that they are 3 hours out from Dallas, but, and wait for it ... The driver can not legally drive any more because he hit his 12 HOUR LIMIT! ON AN 8 HOUR DRIVE!!! So ... now my daughter is waiting on the side of the road for ANOTHER Megabus to come get them....

Megabus never came/no refund

I was taking the megabus home to chicago after visiting my girlfriend in Iowa City. We waited at the bus stop which is at this basically abandoned parking lot/post office. It always drops off and picks up there, there are signs that say that it's megabus pickup. My bus was supposed to arrive at 2:15. we waited there from 2pm until around 3:40 and I called megabus at 2:15 to make sure we were at the right place, which we were, and they said the bus was running 3 minutes late and to call back in 15 minutes if it wasn't there. I called back 15 minutes later, and they said to wait another 15 minutes, then another 15, then 30. there were other people waiting at the bus stop also calling, and around 3:30 they told us over the phone that it pulled off at 2:40, which couldn't have been possible because we were there the entire time. After lying to us over the phone, we asked if we could have a voucher for another bus, which they said no to because we "missed" the bus. I was forced to pay $45 to take a greyhound bus that night after already losing $30 for the megabus. STAY AWAY FROM MEGABUS - they'll *** you over

Waited two hours in pouring rain they wouldn't reschedule my reservation.

I waited for the megabus in the pouring rain in sacramento , CA. I called the megabus customer service to find out the stautus of the bus. I was told to call back in ten to fifteen mintues for a status update because they could not find the current location of the bus. Long story-short I had to call customer service four times , and they still couldnt find the bus for me. I asked if they could reschedule my bus for tomorrow , but they said they couldn't do that for me because i didnt wait for the bus. I asked the lady who claimed her name was " Larie " ( probably lying) if she would wait in the pouring rain for two hours for a bus where they dont know is located nor do they know when it will arrive? i didn't ask for a refund, i asked if she could reschedule my ride and the answer was flat out no. Didn't even try to help me or contact her supervisor / manager at all. Complete horrible service.
