Busdriver wouldn't let us on bus

we waited for bus,asked the driver went to Rochester,NY.she said Toronta,didn't have anyway there... she even made her passengers load their own baggage in cargo area...I called the 1-877-GO2-MEGA #.was told to call the Girect #,NO ANSWER,RECORDING ONLY...LOST THE $34.00 FARE>>>*** POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE>>>MEVER AGAIN>>>June 2,2012...left behind at the MEGABUS stop iat Buffalo Airport...BUASDRIVER IS RUDE AND A LIAR...SCREWED UP VACATION>>> triedto call,but no person only a *** recording...you should be more courteous to uour customers...*** POOR SERVICE...

Megabus MegaFail!!!

I booked 2 tickets with megabus from DC to New York and from New York to Providence, Rhode Island for May 19, 2012. My first trip was perfect, departed on time and arrived on time. The second bus was supposed to leave at 4:30pm and arrive at 8:15. That bus departed at 9:45 and arrived at 2am!!! At 4:30 they told us our bus would be an hr late. That continued until after 9. They lied and told us our bus broke down, there was traffic, so on. It was by far my worst experience ever.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

My daughter surprised me with coming home for Mother's day this year. She was taking the Megabus from Chicago to Indianapolis and arrived 1 1/2 hours late! She was told the bus was late to leave because they didn't schedule a driver for the day!!!! So much for a surprise! Because of this delay we missed our initial Mother's Day plans. My daughter called Megabus to see about changing her return reservations for the same evening to the next morning so she could spend more time with me. After being told the change was no problem, she was told to make the change on the website...which was down for maintenence....AGAIN! She was then given another phone number to call and they again told her they could help, only to come back from a hold and tell her that no changes can be made within 24 hours. Their system locks and no one can make changes or cancel anything! Not even the IT department they said. I find that completely wrong ! They were not helpful and said all she could do is book another reservation for the next morning and lose the money from the missed trip back. We have reported them to the BBB and have lodged complaints to every service imaginable in hopes to get Megabus to wake up before they go bankrupt from their pathetic customer service. Great bussing idea with terrible scheduling and people that are ungreatful unhappy workers.

Megabus made me pay for their failure

On a two leg trip, my first bus arrived an hour late, too late to catch the connecting bus for which I was ticketed. Megabus insisted that I buy a second ticket to take another of their busses to my final destination. They state under FAQs on their website that they do not give refunds for missed trips, comparing the policy to airline policy, but unlike airlines they refuse to take responsibility for delays they cause. The delay on the first leg occurred because the bus driver arrived late to start and also came back late from our rest stop along the way.

And mega bus not giving refunds for their *** ups is absolutely insane!!!! They should be boycotted and pit out business for that reason alone!!

Megabus does NOT guarantee connecting trips, it IS in the terms and conditions, also there is no refund therefore if you miss your bus regardless of what for, you scheduled that connecting trip at your own risk.

Megabus

Trip from Chicago to Cincinnati. No announcements about stops or safety. Got lost trying to get from I-80/I-90 East to I-65 South on way to Indianapolis. Had to stop at rest stop to get directions. In leaving Indianapolis the driver missed turning on to I-65 South as he was traveling East on I-70 and he missed turning South on the I-465 loop that would have taken him to I-74 South to Cincinnati. I told the driver he needed to turn around and take I-465 South but he continued driving East on I-70 towards Dayton. Another passenger tried to help and finally when he reached Greenfield he turned south and took RT 9 to Shelbyville where he reconnected with I-74. When we reached Cincinnati, I assumed we would exit on to the fifth street exit but instead he exited on 2nd Street which would have been ok except he crossed over 4th street where he was supposed to turn left. Everyone on the bus just moaned! He had to go around the block and finally was able to find his way to the bus stop. I don't know about what you expect from your drivers but I think you are setting your company up for some serious legal issues if you put untrained personnel in charge of moving people around the country to say the least. Besides training your drivers, it obviously should be madatory that each bus be outfitted with a GPS system!

No Care for Customers Whatsoever

First leg of my trip from Harrisburg to DC the bus was one hour late, so I was actually waiting for an hour and twenty minutes...no notice, no help from another Mega Bus driver who pulled up for a different destination. Called their phone number and representative was inpatient and had no information; she gave me the customer service number. I called them but no live person ever answered and I hung up after 20 minutes. When bus fuinally arrived, no apologies or explanations and the two-man crew were not particularly friendly or welcoming. The second leg of trip from DC back to Harrisburg scheduled to depart at 10:15 pm....again, no Mega Bus by 10:00 and no signs or information. In DC there is a small group of Mega Bus staff, but they never approach anyone in the Mega Bus lines to provide information. I have to initiate with them, only to be told the departure time for my bus was changed, with no warning, to 11:45! Close to the departure time there are several Mega Busses and tons of passangers swarming the area - but lots of disorganization and non-helpful Mega Bus staff. Organization comes down to one female Mega Bus employee shouting out for passangers to get in certain lines, but it is all very unclear and passangers soon begin huddling together to figure out on their own where they are supposed to be. In summary, Mega Bus is extremely disorganized and offers no competant professionalism or customer care - it is cheap, and cheap is what you get. As for me, never again!

No Terminal: Stand in the Rain

I had a great ride from Boston to NY, however coming home was a disaster. I was given a different address by a tickets salesperson to pick up the bus and found it to be on 10th Ave and 40-41St. Good thing I looked at the ticket. When I got there, THERE WAS NO TERMINAL. Everyone stood in the pouring rain behind a chain link against the building standing on the sidewalk getting soaked unless they had a umbrella. Most did not have one. I have never in my life took a bus where there was no terminal. I expected this company with such nice buses to have a terminal and was never notified about the inconvenience of standing in the rain. The bus ride was jerky and the electric plugs for the iPhone didn't work. Thank God I sat next to someone nice to talk to. I will never again take this bus to Boston from New York again.

Needless to say the bus stop in New York on 11th & 12th, no terminal in no man's land no restroom, only vender's and their carts to get a drink, not even a sidewalk, sidewalk closed walked in street. Terrible experience quite recent 1/5/13, never will travel with Megabus again rather spend more money with another bus company.

The driver was going to leave one of the passengers and he actually found that funny. Just totally shameful, no way to run a business afterall the ride was not free and even if it was it would still not of been worth it.

Do NOT use Megabus!

I booked a ticket yesterday for the 7:15pm bus from Baltimore to New York for later that night. I arrived early and stood in line with the rest of the NY travelers. At around 8:15pm, we were informed that, although Megabus had sold us tickets for a 7:15pm bus, the company had failed to secure a bus and a driver. They were sending a bus from Landover, MD, which would arrive at 9:40pm. The woman working for Megabus assured us that we would have first priority for seats on buses that arrive before that. To her credit, she seemed to keep her word. Luckily, I got the last seat on the 7:45pm bus (which arrived at 8:45pm). I have no idea if the bus ever got there, or what happened to the long line of travelers waiting to get on the bus. When I left, passengers for the 8:45pm bus had arrived and were waiting in line behind the 7:15 and 7:45 passengers. It's one thing for a bus to be late (and, believe me, the Sunday night BAL-NY bus is always late). But this bus company never even got a bus or a driver -- they sold tickets for a journey that did not exist. Also, the Baltimore stop is at a Park and Ride that is outdoors -- there is one small bus shelter and it was rainy last night. Needless to say, I am NEVER again taking Megabus. I dealt with the delays for awhile, but last night was the last straw. I understand that these trips are generally poorly planned, with traffic delays, overbookings, and the need for new drivers that Megabus never seems to compensate for. But to forget the bus and driver, well that is complete incompetence. I recommend that you take your business elsewhere and let this company just die.

Rude driver smelly coach

i took the megabus from london to glasgow on the 16th of march at 12pm and from the second i stepped foot on the coach there was an awful smell of urine, i wasnt the only person to notice this as every other passenger to come aboard the coach also noticed the stench. we stopped to change drivers after a couple of hours into our journey and the problem was bought to the attention of the driver by many of the passenger and the only response we got back was "its not my problem" the driver was very rude very arrogant and very unhelpful, ive used megabus before and there is always something to complain about. the customer/driver relationship is poor and for this reason i shall be taking my custom else where in future. No power,no internet, 1hr late.

I took a round trip from Orlando to Atlanta via Jacksonville on the Megabus. On the way to Atlanta the bus was an hour late and the internet didn't work. On the bus I'm on now, back to Orlando, the power outlets and reading lights don't work. Our cell phones and computers are dying. The driver has no idea why. I called Megabus to see if there is a Master switch and the girl said she doesn't know of one. Also they don't offer any amount of refund because these services are FREE. So basically they don't stand behind their service claims. They might as well list foot rubs and free drinks!! It sounds nice.

Mega inconvenience

Valentines day (Feb-14) 2012 me and my girl friend decided to catch the mega Bus to NYC for the day, and have lunch. we caught the 7:15 from Union station (Wash, DC) the bus broke down less than 10 minutes after leaving Union station, an hour later a replacement bus arrives, 3 hours later at the Grover Cleveland rest area located on the New Jersey turnpike, the driver pulled in to switch drivers, he cut the bus off and it would not restart, we sat there for another hour until another bus came, and we transferred to that one. this was very inconvenient to us, a 4 1/2 hour bus ride turned in to a 7 hour headache, thank you Mega bus for ruining my Valentines day

Mega Bus is the worst!

Mega Bus has the worst customer service. They are rude and you will be "inadvertently" disconnected frequently. Frankly, it appeas that the customer service employees need massive training on the definition of "customer service." Mega Bus also frequently overbooks so that even if you show up before the appointed departure time (while the bus is still loading) they will often give away your seat. If that happens, good luck getting a seat on a later bus the same day. It is also quite chaotic at the departure point in New York City. There is no line per se. You just have to go for it and hope you don't get into a conflict with someone who simply walks in front of you.

MEGABUS - Female Driver Rude and Sexist to male passangers

Megabus Driver was incredibly rude... she screamed at us like a heard of cattle in the 20 degree weather. She had men and women get into two seperate lines... female driver allowed the women to board first, and instructed her other staff not to load their luggage... when they boarded the men were ordered to load the womens luggage into the bus, along with their own, and then get on the bus. All the men stood outside for more than 30 minutes during this process... I dont pay to be treated any different than any other passanger. Disgusting, disgraceful, and i will never travel on megabus again.
