I want my money back

MegaBus was 45 minutes late in picking us up at Union Station in Washington DC going to Philadelphia. There were only 2 MegaBus employees at Union Station which ignored our entire group of passengers. There was no update as to let us know what was happening, why the bus was late or how long it would be till the bus would come. Once the bus finally arrived the crowd was very frustrated and people started cutting each other in line and fighting. There was no MegaBus employee there to "manage" the line. We never received any apology for the wait or reason why the bus was late. No customer service. They will very likely go out of business with such poor service. I hope someone from corporate reads this... They should do an "undercover boss" episode with this company. They need help!

Worst thing is they was late at the destination about 2hours because the driver lost ( one of passenger have to use IPhone GPS to find the right route)...WTF

We never received any apology for the wait or reason why the bus was late'. No customer service or other sign for direction.

Luckyly, I still survive to write this, some guy died from overturn Megabus couple days ago.

No more Megabus. Bye bye forever!

Hi, My name is Joanna. I was travelling from Manchester Shudehill to Bournemounth on 22 of July. The time of my trip was 17:30 till 12:10. When I start my trip I have ask a driver, if this bus is going to the Bournrmounth?, he said: Yes. Ok, then I get in and when was about 23:20.....I have ask one of the passanger , where we are now? In case, to let me frend know, when she could collect me from train station in Bournemounth. So this girl from the bus told me that we are in Portmouth soon, and this bus is not going to Bournrmounth. I went to the driver... I have tried to explain everything..and i said I was asked the first driver before....Then Driver said that I shoudl get off in Saupthampton Aiport. Nobady told me that before. When I ask before I get in, or even online I didnt see this information either. Drivers are changing shifts durning this trip, so probably the firts driver didint know, because he was driving only to Birmingham. In the middle of the night I stay in Portmounth.....I was so stressed.....After 2 hours i found connection Nationalexpress, from Portsmounth to Bournmounth.....I never ever fill uncomfortable before....was really dangeros for me, specially i didint know this areas before.

I injured my ankle working out today and I cannot travel tomorrow at 7:30am. I need to rest it for 24 hours.

i usually travel to Houston on megabus. May I have the courtesy to reschedule my trip in January.

International passengers, who do not speak English, were bumped from bus because the bus was oversold. They were left on street corner with all their luggage, no apology, and no financial assistance for the inconvenience. Had purchased their tickets at least a week...

Megabus' customer service is terrible

Megabus' customer service is terrible. On the 11 trips me and my friend have accumulated, one was 3 hours late to the destination and another was 5 hours late. Both were due to mechanical problems with the bus. We contacted customer service and were promised a refund but after 5 more calls and a broken promise to us this has not yet happened. Also, the WiFi almost never works despite what they say on their website. This seems like false advertising to me. Summed up: In our experience their customer service is ***, the buses are frequently late, and their promises mean nothing.

Very BAD service with Megabus!

Me and my family were going on a trip to Barrie organised by a church in Toronto, so we decided to take Megabus to Toronto and then take the church bus to Barrie. The bus was there on time but there was no places for me and my kids (we were 4). There was also 3 other persons that didn't find any place for them on the bus too. The Megabus driver surprised me saying that we have two choices, either to spend 5 hours sitting on the stairs of the bus, knowing that I have kids with me and that it is absolutely not safe at all. Obviously we refused. The other choice was that we wait for the next bus coming couple of hours later. He couldn't wait until we get out of his bus. I waited for more than 2 hours in the street with my kids. Obviously we missed the church bus and it took us so long to get to Barrie after. It was a horrible trip with EXTREMELY BAD SERVICE with Megabus!

So why should we buy tickets priviously then?! And you are telling me that anyone who buys a tichet for megabus risks not going on the bus and looses his tickets just because he came 45 mins earlier as we did!!! -.- doesnt make no sense to me

Megabus serious delay

I take megabus regularly to Amhurst MA. The morning inbound bus is ok. The afternoon/evening outbound bus is NEVER on time. My worst wait time was 3 hours standing on 10th avenue! There is no email/text alert so everyone had to wait on street. If the bus does not appear, they always blame traffic and lie to you. If they say "the bus will be here in 20 minutes" that means "one hour". Even if the bus is there, they DON'T WANT it to leave on time. Driver and staff talk nonsense, drink coke, do everything in slow motion. One time the bus could leave on time, but was 45 minutes late because driver was talking jokes with staff. Perhaps drivers make money by hours, not by being on time. And be warned that driver can add surprise at any minute en route. They can make a huge detour to a local shopping plaza to change driver, or to Dattco yard in CT to refuel. 15-30 minutes is typically wasted in these trips.

Stay off Mega Bus

You get what you pay for is very true in this case. Mega bus is low cost and affordable but to me, not worth saving the $. The bus is very tight and over crowded, seats are very hard. Bathroom was a mess. My first trip and my last. Drivers are rude and unfriendly. I had an accident because of the nasty bathroom and I asked to get a change of clothes and was denied by the driver and we were paked already. This bus is late usually by hours, so you must add that in your plans when traveling because they will be late. Even getting a refund back over the phone was hard, a lady answered who didn't even speak English. If you are a low income family and no extra cash, okay maybe mega bus is for you, but it is worth is to pay the extra cash for another means of transportation long distance. One of the drivers even had their gf on the bus....how unprofessional.

NO refund, NO warning

I was excited to hear about megabus' cheap fares, and, when I got to the site, the advertised ease of switching trips- only pay $1! Sure enough, shortly after booking a seat, I learned that my hostess wouldn't be prepared for me until a day after my arrival. I gladly made a new reservation, as it cut my ticket price almost in half. I then proceeded to pay the $1 service fee, and waited for my refund. It never appeared. Only after mucking through customer service for far too long did I learn that there is absolutely no reimbursement for any ticket. Also, at now point when changing reservations are you informed of this. To add insult to the injury, they make you pay an additional dollar to take the discrepancy- it is apparently impossible to use your ride "credit" to pay for the change. Very upset.

I am sad to say that I have never in my life been talked to the way I did By customer service today. (6-16-12) Miss Washington was her name. She is absolutely the worst individual representing our company. Your reps not only gave me the wrong pick up address, which she acknowledged. She gave no concern to my problem or phone call in general. I want everyone to hear how she treats her customers and I am posting her rant. I called back three times and every time she knew it was me and refused to transfer me to someone else. I have waited for this trip for a while now to see my son from Illinois. With little money I chose Megabus upon a friends suggestion. But not only did they move the stop without updatibg it with customer service and customers. They don't even care and admit fault but say they can not help you. What kind of business does this but crooks and cons. I will not rest until this company is exposed and can exoerience the pain I am feeling right now. And Miss Washington will have her own bad karma to deal with. What a mean and utterly miserable lady she must be to talk the way she did.

Megabus serious of delays

Hello, My name is Zachary Long. I recently purchased a ticket from Boston – New York on service. Our scheduled departure time was supposed to be 6:30 PM from South Station. This did not happen. Thus bus did not arrive until approximately 6:45 pm, when the driver had to take a break due to fatigue until 7:15, we were told. We did not board until 7:30. On the road, at an unknown time to me, our bus driver called in, stating he was "over his hours" and had to stop. He apparently arranged for another driver to relieve him. We pulled off the highway, when down a series of incorrect roads, adding onto our delay. At one point the bus was driving on the wrong side of the road, jeopardizing the safety of all those on the bus. I provided directions with my cell phone at one point for our clearly beleaguered driver. After getting to the rest stop, to change drivers, there was no driver to be found. Despite the fact that we had already spend approximately 30 minutes going down the wrong roads, the replacement driver was still 50 minutes away when we arrived. As of writing, he has not arrived yet, but we have been waiting for 25 minutes, and he is apparently still 20 minutes away. Our bus, scheduled to arrive at 11:10 PM, will not likely arrive until after 1 AM. The bus ride is only 4:10 minutes – this represents ~ 50 more than the stated stime. It is completely unacceptable that you would have a bus driver begin a route, only to stop over 75% of the way to its final destination, and wait 50 minutes, approximately the time required to get to the final destination, for a replacement driver. I am incredibly disappointed with your service, and believe a full refund would be more than appropriate. A disappointed customer, Zach Long

Driver fatigue is a very serious issue.

He should not have started the route if he knew he would not be able to complete it. It is now 1:30AM and the bus still has not reached its destination.

Rude and at fault

My mother - retired, slow but most respectful and humble get bad mouthed and is forced to miss her bus because she went to the restroom before boarding. After two buses (and two hours of standing while waiting) left for New York from Washington DC, she witnessed a passenger get left behind because they dared to step off the bus and smoke a cigarette during a ten minute subsequent pick-up of Baltimore customers - that person did not cause any delay. I have been taking Megabus since they cracked down on Chinatown buses (which had chronic safety and timing problems) and already have been late because Megabus cannot seem to factor in the time needed to arrive or depart on time.

I've taken three trips on Megabus. I got left once also by Megabus and even lost my money that I paid for the fare, but I take responsibility for my own mistakes.

Megabus is the best thing to come along in a long time and I'm glad greyhound has some competition now. I love their service as long as their prices and service remain as competitive as they are they will always be my first choice for bus travel from now on.
